Videoconferencing - More info
What is Videoconferencing?
Using either ISDN or IP communications technology your image is digitally reproduced and sent to the remote equipment where it is displayed, the image at the far end is simultaneously sent to the equipment at your site and displayed (point-to-point): it works like 2 way TV. The quality of the image is largely dependent upon the capacity of the communications link between the equipment at each end. The higher the capacity (speed) of the communications link the better the quality (QoS).
* ISDN = Integrated Services Digital Network
* IP = Internet Protocol

What is Multi-Point (MP)?

Multi-point is where you are able to connect more than two sites in one videoconference. In some instances the equipment at each site may not be capable of supporting multiple connections, in this instance a 'bridge' is required that connects all sites at the individually required communication link speeds.
